‘Waris Jari Hantu’ bags 5 awards

GEORGETOWN: Waris Jari Hantu was the star of the 20th Malaysian Film Festival last night bagging five awards including Best Director for Shuhaimi Baba.

Other awards picked up by the movie included Best Original Story, Best Original Music Score, Best Supporting Actress (Azean Irdawaty) and Best Actor (Rusdi Ramli).

Another movie to pick up multiple awards was Cinta (Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor — Datuk Rahim Razali).

Vanida Imran walked away with the Best Actress award for her role in Red Kebaya.

The movie also picked up awards in the sound effects, costume and poster categories.
Tuaka Tebing Biru won two awards — Best Cinematography (Khalid Zakaria) and Best Art Direction (Nazrul Ashraff).
